America has a great dream that resides in the heart of every resident of the continent. It is a dream of justice in the broadest sense of the word, and it has to do with Human Rights, peaceful coexistence, the elevation of human dignity, economic rights and public freedoms. This is evident in artistic manifestations, cinema, journalism, literature, etc. In any case, the important thing about all this is that the Dominican Republic lived through a formidable experience at the end of 2009 and beginning of 2010 that was crowned with the promulgation of a new constitution that includes that dream and expresses it in the proclamation of the Dominican State as a Democratic Social State of Rights and the protection of human rights beyond its Universal Declaration.
